In line with the governments Prevent agenda Gibber have been touring a hard hitting 50 minute performance and follow on workshop to year 9 pupils across the region.

“In the name of…”

is about preventing violent extremism by educating young people on the way that extremist groups prey on young people and manipulate the truth to suit their own political aims. 

 The workshop provides a safe space for the young people to discuss and explore a very controversial, sensitive issue in an open, respectful way and encourages tollereance and understanding of the different groups in society.

Commissioned by the 5 regional councils of Tyne & Wear Gibber are extending delivery into the Autumn term and are currently developing a similar initiative to go into Primary schools.
