Daisy Hill Youth Centre
DVD
To design and deliver a substance misuse awareness project to Daisy Hill Youth Centre for 13 - 17 year olds that will culminate in the making of a unique 3 - 5 minute film about the effects of substance misuse in and around the Daisy Hill community.
Through the use of short humorous sketches, interactive games and role play Gibber examined why young people indulge in risk related behaviour and explored the theme of substance misuse and anti social behaviour. This resulted in a film script with input from the group using the language and situations gathered from improvisations. The group were then supported to create their own message and produce a broadcast quality short film that was showcased at The Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle Upon Tyne to highlight the effects of substance misuse in The Daisy Hill community.
